William Mills was the son of Denis and Margaret Mills. He was born in Carrickmore and lived in Pomeroy. William Mills served throughout the South African campaign. William was living and working in Scotland at the outbreak of the First World War. He enlisted in Ayr. Private William Mills was serving with the 2nd Battalion of the Royal Irish Fusiliers (Princess Victoria’s) when he was killed in action on Tuesday 15th June 1915.
