Archibald Cooke was born in Coagh and lived near Springhill, Moneymore before he enlisted with the Royal Field Artillery at Stockton-on-Tees. He was killed in action on 18th November 1914 and is commemorated on Panel 5 – 9 on the Menin Gate Memorial, Ypres, Belgium.

Archibald Cooke was the son of William and Jane Cooke. William Cooke married Jane Carleton on 4th February 1881.
Archibald Cooke was born on 13th December 1882 in Coagh.
Speculated family: William Cooke, Jane Cooke, Sarah Cooke (born 16th August 1881), Archibald Cooke (born 13th December 1882).
Archibald does not seem to be listed in either the 1901 or 1911 Irish census.
He enlisted with the Royal Field Artillery in Stockton-on-Tees.

Gunner Archibald Cooke was serving with the 51st Battery of the Royal Field Artillery when he was killed in action on Wednesday 18th November 1914.
Gunner A Cooke has no known grave and is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial in Ypres, Belgium.
