Sad news has reached the village that Private Hugh Michael O’Hare has been killed in action in Holland. The deceased was an outstanding Gaelic footballer before he joined the forces, and was very popular in social circles. Widespread sorrow is evinced among his many friends.
Gunner Hugh Michael O’Hare is buried in Reichswald Forest War Cemetery in Germany. His inscription reads: ALWAYS IN MY HEART. SADLY MOURNED AND ALWAYS MISSED BY WIFE AND CHILDREN
