11/01/2017 Last Will and Testament of Private George Brown dated 17th February 1915:
11/01/2017 Private George Brown, Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, Crossnarea, Moneymore, killed in action. The deceased’s time of service had expired some months after the outbreak of the war, but he rejoined for a further period.

11/01/2017 From the Belfast Newsletter dated 18th December 1916:
30/12/2015 After he died his mother and sister inserted the following verse in the local Mid Ulster Mail newspaper.

30/12/2015 From the Mid Ulster Mail dated Saturday 16 December 1916:
30/12/2015 It is hard to part with those we love
30/12/2015 But his name is written in letters of gold,
30/12/2015 Private George Brown has no known grave and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial in France.
30/12/2015 George was awarded the Military Medal. As there is no citation for a military medal we may assume it was for gallantry. He is recorded as having died of wounds on 21st November 1916 and has no known grave.
