31/07/2017 In the aftermath of the night attack, battalion casualties were high. 240 men were killed, including local men, John Arbuthnot, James Hamilton, Edward Lavery, Robert Lawless, James Lawlor, Patrick Taylor, James Owens, Alex McIlree and Michael Lawn (who died of his wounds on 17th May 1915).
